Barranquilla Bilingüe is an educational and cultural program aimed at promoting bilingualism in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. The program focuses on improving the English language skills of students and professionals in the region.
It is implemented to:
– Enhance job prospects and academic competitiveness in a globalized world.
– Foster intercultural understanding and exchange between different cultures.
– Develop linguistic and cognitive skills in participants.
The goal of Barranquilla Bilingüe is to make the city a bilingual community, where inhabitants can communicate effectively in both Spanish and English.
IMPROVE Program
The IMPROVE program is an educational initiative designed to enhance the English language skills of students and professionals in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Why Barranquilla Bilingüe came to Barranquilla
Barranquilla Bilingüe was launched in response to the growing need for English language skills in the city of Barranquilla. As a major economic hub in Colombia, Barranquilla has become an attractive destination for foreign investment, tourism, and international trade.
However, the lack of English language proficiency among the local population was identified as a significant barrier to the city’s economic growth and competitiveness. To address this challenge, Barranquilla Bilingüe was established to provide English language training and promote bilingualism in the city.
Why IMPROVE came to Barranquilla
The IMPROVE program was introduced in Barranquilla to support the city’s efforts to become a bilingual community. IMPROVE at our school
This year 2025, We have been working with IMPROVE and the assigned instructor Mr. Augusto Osorio on a better understanding of the SABER test for 11º. The lessons were developped every Wednesday from 7:00 to 11.30 until August. After witnessing some improvements on the score with two simulation tests, we hope that the goal of getting a better SABER test score will be achieved. A very useful program, we are also hoping to be part of future programs and iniciatives aimed at promoting the teaching and speaking of english in our beloved Alfonso Lopez school.
